Dr Aiden Lyon is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist. After growing up in Ballina on the Northern Rivers, Aiden moved to Brisbane for his undergraduate degree, completing a Bachelor of Science (Medical Science) with Honours at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Following this, he underwent his postgraduate medical training at Griffith University on the Gold Coast, continuing into his advanced training in Gastroenterology at the Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH).
After his second year at the Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH), his fellowship year was at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital, focusing on quality in colonoscopy and endoscopicmucosal resection (EMR).
Aiden continues to be actively involved with teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, with an appointment with the University of Queensland and Griffith University as a Senior Lecturer.
Currently, he sits on the committee for the Gastroenterology Society of Queensland (GESQ) and is an active member of the Basic Physician Training Committee at the Gold Coast University Hospital and also a Clinical Supervision for the FRACP trainees.
Aiden performs diagnostic gastroscopy and colonoscopy including endoscopic mucosal resection and has further accreditation in capsule endoscopy. He is available to care for patients experiencing a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders with special interests in quality colonoscopy and inflammatory bowel disease.
