It’s Thursday, and here at Robina Private Hospital, we’re already deep into the heart of Queensland Mental Health Week 2025 — and what a beautiful week it’s been so far.
From the moment the week began on Saturday, the hospital has been buzzing with warmth, gratitude, and a genuine sense of community. The gratitude board in the staff room has steadily filled with heartfelt messages, reminding us all of the power of appreciation and the strength of our team. Staff have also been enjoying free meals from the chef, a simple but meaningful gesture that’s brought comfort and connection to our busy days.
Sunday and Monday offered sweet moments of pause, with special treats during tea breaks that turned ordinary moments into something memorable. On Tuesday, creativity and movement took centre stage. Debra’s “Build a Moustache” activity brought laughter and a touch of Movember spirit, while a sushi lunch added a fresh twist to the day. Later, staff gathered in the courtyard for a calming Tai Chi session, reconnecting with breath and body in the spring sunshine.
Wednesday was a standout, filled with pampering and play. Staff enjoyed massages by Corporate Hands, indulged in delicious bites from Jesse and The Chef’s food truck, and were delighted by a visit from some very special guests — alpacas, whose gentle presence brought smiles to everyone they met.
Today, Thursday, we’re continuing the celebrations with a visit from the ice cream truck at the front entrance, followed by a lovely high tea in the staff room this afternoon. It’s been a joy to see colleagues take a moment to relax, connect, and enjoy the thoughtful touches that make this week so special.
And there’s still more to come. Tomorrow morning begins with yoga led by Darlene, followed by a nourishing breakfast and a cheerful plant sale — a perfect way to bring nature into our spaces and homes. Over the weekend, the kitchen will be filled with the comforting aroma of baked goods, and staff can help themselves to ice cream and lollies to round off the week with a sweet treat.
Queensland Mental Health Week is a time to reflect on what it means to truly support one another — not just in our roles, but as people. Robina Private Hospital is proud to be part of this celebration, creating space for joy, connection, and wellbeing in every corner of our hospital.
As we move through the rest of the week, we carry with us the reminder that mental health matters — and that together, we can build a culture of care that lasts far beyond these seven days.
