Dr Santosh Baral is a locally trained consultant Geriatrician and Physician. He was trained in Queensland hospitals including Gold Coast University Hospital, Logan and Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Dr Baral provides specialist assessment and management on cognitive disorders, including diagnostic clarification, management planning, and behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia. He also provides comprehensive general geriatric assessment for complex multimorbidity, frailty assessment, polypharmacy, incontinence and management with focusing on improving function, nutrition, independence, and quality of life.
He also provides assessment for peri-operative geriatric medicine care and post-operative recovery including management of delirium, frailty, falls, and functional decline.
Dr Baral adopts a holistic, multidisciplinary approach aimed at improving clinical outcomes, minimising hospitalisation, and supporting safe community living with a strong emphasis on collaborative care with general practitioners.
