Professional background
Kayla has a background in psychology and completed her Master of Social Work through Griffith University, training in public acute mental health services. She is currently working as a mental health social worker at Robina Private Hospital, facilitating inpatient mood and anxiety groups as well as outpatient groups including Introduction to DBT and Healthy Minds. Kayla also works at a drug and alcohol recovery service.
Kayla’s practice framework includes a range of evidence-based therapies including dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing and solution-focused therapy. Her work is underpinned with social work values of respect for persons, professional integrity and social justice.
