This 12-session program is based on the philosophy of First Step supporting you to understand your addiction and learn skills and strategies to help cope with stresses in your life without relying on substances. It is based on Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy (CBT) principles as well as use of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills.
Throughout this program you will participate in group sessions lead by a qualified Allied Health Professional. You will be supported to identify and understand your addiction and self-guide your recovery. You will learn new skills and will practice applying them in your own day-to-day before the next session.
