This 8-session program is for people experiencing mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, addiction and adjustment issues. Participants will be taught a range of practical skills to help ‘bounce back’ from stressful and difficult life experiences and get back to meeting the demands of day-to-day living. The principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Positive Psychology, Mindfulness, and Emotional Regulation used throughout.
Throughout this program you will participate in group sessions lead by a qualified Allied Health Professional. By using a range of evidence-based strategies, participants will aim to build personal resilience and develop emotional physical health. You will learn new skills and will practice applying them in your own day-to-day before the next session. Then, bring what you have learnt and experienced to each group for feedback and input.
Understanding Resilience – Learn factors contributing to resilience and how the program will assist you to learn strategies to build personal resilience.
Facing Your Feelings – Learn to understand emotions and the role they play in your life. Learn how to accept and tolerate emotions in order to view them in a different, more helpful way.
Challenge Unhelpful Thoughts – Learn to identify how your emotions can influence your thoughts and behaviours and use new skills to develop a more balanced and rational thinking style.
Promote Happiness & Wellbeing – Learn to provide yourself compassionate self-support and use positive psychology to improve your wellbeing.
Understand the importance of physical health on mental health, and learn how to establish a healthy lifestyle.
