Dr. Patrice Callaghan is a Consultant Psychiatrist with experience in adult and older persons' mental health. With a particular focus on memory and cognitive issues, as well as mood disorders, Dr. Callaghan has built a reputation for her compassionate and holistic approach to mental health care.
Born in Brisbane, Dr Callaghan completed her medical degree on the Gold Coast and began her career as a General Practitioner, before training in Psychiatry. She holds a Fellowship in Old Age and Adult Psychiatry and has specialised experience working with both adults and older individuals navigating a range of mental health challenges, including chronic disease and serious mental illness.
Along with older persons mental health, Dr Callaghans’ special interests also lie in supporting women in their 40s and beyond, helping them manage life transitions, emotional changes, and the psychological impact that these can have on their overall wellbeing.
Driven by the belief that kindness and understanding are the foundations of excellent mental health care, Dr Callaghan strives to create an environment where all patients feel supported, respected, empowered and safe to walk openly without fear or judgement in order to take charge of their mental health journey.
