Professional background

Dr Mohammad Al-Freah finished his Bachelor degree in Medicine in 1990. He completed his advanced gastroenterology training in 2006 with FRACP degree. Subsequently Dr Al-Freah completed a 5-year fellowship at Kings College Hospital in London/UK 2007-2012. He was awarded MD (Medicine Doctorate) for his research in chronic liver disease from Kings College London / University of London UK in June 2015. He also worked as a consultant gastroenterologist at Wirral University hospital in Liverpool and Chelsea & Westminster hospital in London/UK where he was exposed to a high volume of patients, managing patients with various gastroenterology problems and performing regular endoscopy lists.

He moved with his young family to the Gold Coast in 2013 to work as a Senior Staff Specialist in medicine and gastroenterology at The Tweed Hospital before he joined The Gastrointestinal Centre in February 2015. He has been providing gastroenterology services for the people of the Gold Coast since 2013. Dr Al-Freah is a Fellow of the Royal Australasia College of Physicians and is an accredited GI endoscopist with the Gastroenterology Society of Australia (GESA). Dr Al-Freah is up to date with GESA colonoscopy recertification.
