Professional background
Dr Anthony Febbo is a specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with degrees in Dentistry and Medicine, and a Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery), complemented by extensive post-specialty training.
Dr Febbo earned his Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours from the University of Western Australia in 2011 and completed a Medical Degree from Flinders University in Adelaide, graduating with distinction in 2015.
Dr Febbo completed specialty training in leading tertiary hospitals across Australia, including Westmead Hospital, Canberra Hospital, and the John Hunter Hospital. During this time, he acquired extensive expertise in all facets of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, encompassing complex dental extractions, implantology, management of facial trauma, reconstructive microvascular surgery, and orthognathic (corrective jaw) procedures.
After completing his accredited training in 2022, Dr Febbo cultivated a strong interest in TMJ and orthognathic surgery, furthering his expertise through specialised training in Sydney, Australia. He then pursued a head and neck fellowship in the United Kingdom, focusing on head and neck oncology and microvascular reconstruction.
Dr Febbo practices at the Gold Coast University Hospital as well as in private practice, exemplifying his dedication to delivering high-quality patient care. His commitment to advancing the field is evident through both his clinical work and his contributions to scientific research, with multiple publications in peer-reviewed surgical journals and presentations at both local and international conferences.
Additionally, he enjoys teaching and mentoring the next generation of surgeons, medical students, and dental students.
