- Orthopaedic Surgery
Dr Talbot is a specialty trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in adult and paediatric conditions of the shoulder and knee including trauma, sports injuries and arthritic conditions. He has trained in leading orthopaedic trauma and specialty centres throughout Australia.
Dr Talbot completed his Bachelor of Science at the University of Queensland in 2002, a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery in 2006, and completed his training 2015. In 2016 he completed the Australian Orthopaedic Association accredited fellowship in arthroplasty and reconstruction at the Orthopaedic Research Institute of Queensland in Townsville.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons FRACS (Orthopaedic Surgery) and the Australian Orthopaedic Association.
With a keen interest in education Dr Talbot has held a number of academic posts during his career including Senior Lecturer, Griffith University Gold Coast; Associate Lecturer, Bond University Gold Coast and Associate Lecturer, James Cook University.
He is a recipient of the John Flynn Scholarship from the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine, where he undertook over four years with the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Broken Hill.
Currently Dr Talbot is Senior Medical Officer at Gold Coast University Hospital and Robina Hospital.
