Often this time of year is associated with traditions, many of which revolve around food, this in itself can be an especially stressful experience. Attending social events and reuniting with family can become sources of tremendous anxiety and immense emotional strain, leaving you feeling vulnerable and isolated.
This special 2 week program is aimed at practicing existing skills, focusing on new strategies, building capacity and resilience to assist you in your recovery. Group therapy offers the opportunity for patients to share their experiences as well as draw on the collective strength and knowledge of the group and others.
When is it held?
Week 1: Monday 13th– Friday 17th Dec 9am – 2pm
Week 2: Monday 20th– Friday 24th Dec, 9am – 2pm
Who is the program for?
Anyone with a diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa; Bulimia Nervosa; Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder (OSFED) or Unspecified Feeding or Eating Disorder who has completed either the Inpatient or Outpatient Eating Disorder Program at Robina Private Hospital. You must be medically stable and engaged with a treating team.
The program utilises efficacious and evidence based treatment of Eating Disorders under the following structure: Supported meals and social eating Dietitian sessions Therapeutic groups Art therapy
How to join
Patients will need to obtain a referral from any medical practitioner (e.g. General Practitioner, Paediatrician, Psychiatrist). Please submit referrals to [email protected] by Friday 3 rd December, 2021.
